Helloooo my lovely readers, let me first start by saying I had no clue what love languages were or that there was even a quiz to find out something like that, I had heard the terminology before but never paid much attention to it until I was reading Ijeoma Kola’s blog post 10 TIPS FOR LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIPS and her first tip was to know you and your partner’s love language. The way she explained it made sense to me, so I took the quiz but before I tell you what my results were, let me briefly explain to those who are clueless like I once was about love languages.
From my research, the whole love languages concept was formed by a marriage counsellor by the name of Dr. Gary Chapman, he wrote a book called the ‘Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts’ after years of experience in the counselling business. The book was a New York Bestseller which wasn’t surprising because anything about dating, relationships and marriage sells fast due to the excessive demand. Anyways, Dr. Chapman noticed a misalignment and miscommunication between married couples when it came to understanding how each needed to be loved and appreciated thus he began researching these issues and that study gave birth to the five love languages which are: Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Receiving Gifts, Quality Time, and Physical Touch.

Before taking the quiz I could already tell the order my love languages were going to be in because I know myself and how I like to be loved. It took about 5 minutes to complete and it was a pick this or that type of quiz with only two options. My results are drumroll please . . .

If you already know the ranking of your love languages then you don’t have to take this test but if you don’t then I implore you to and if in a relationship take it with your partner see if it will make a difference in your relationship. I like the concept, let me know what you think in the comment section below.
